DSC Rifle Range Officer Certification Requirements
Procedures
BECOMING A RIFLE RANGE SAFETY OFFICER (RSO) IF NOT A CURRENT
RSO AT OTHER DSC VENUES
1. Attend the Rifle range NEW RSO orientation
2. Successfully complete the NRA RSO course
3. Present your NRA RSO card to the DSC office and pickup
a DSC RSO card
4. Present your DSC RSO card to the rifle committee chairman
5. Serve 2 times as RO Trainee during Rifle Range Open Shooting
6. Serve 1 time as RO Trainee (acting as Head RO) during Rifle
Range Open Shooting
BECOMING A RIFLE RSO IF YOU ARE A CURRENT RSO AT
OTHER DSC VENUES
1. Attend the Rifle range NEW RSO orientation
2. Present your DSC RSO card to the rifle committee chairman
3. Serve 1 time as RO Trainee during Rifle Range Open Shooting
4. Serve 1 time as RO Trainee (Head RO) during Rifle Range
Open Shooting
MAINTAINING RIFLE RSO STATUS
1. Maintain a current DSC RSO card
2. Take the Rifle range specific RSO renewal class every 2
years
3. Serve as a rifle RSO 3 times in the previous rolling 12
month period
TO GET A RIFLE RANGE KEY
1. Follow the procedure to become a RSO
2. Get a key disbursement form from the rifle committee chairman
